Trains replaced by buses at Stowmarket station

Train users in Stowmarket have faced disrupted journeys this morning after a woman was hit and killed by a train near Bury St Edmunds.

The incident took place close to Bury St Edmunds station and meant that trains were not stopping at Stowmarket this morning.
The incident happened at around 8am this morning and British Transport Police officers were called to the line near to the town’s rail station.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The train involved was a cargo train, the 4.03am Doncaster to Felixstowe North train and it meant that trains between Bury and Ipswich were stopped and a replacement bus service was put operation.
