One of the pitches at Stowmarket Cricket Club in Chilton Fields has been vandalised by people best described as 'yobs', in an article by the East Anglian Daily times (EADT).

Mindless Vandalism

Having taken place overnight on Sunday 17th April, one of the pitches had been attacked, leaving a big hole in the wicket and knocking down a marquee.  This is not the first time this has happened as the club had suddered as similar incident back in November 2010.

According to the EADT, the club are determined not to let it affect the cricket season which is now underway. Why such people get a kick out of vandalising a cricket pitch is beyond me, but is most definately sad that we have such individuals getting away with such ridiculous acts of vandalism.

Any witnesses can contact Pc Barry Abbott of the Stowmarket Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team on 01473 613500.

I wonder what these yobs would get in an IQ test. Saddening to think such people exist in the community. I can't even comprehend what went through their minds as they did this. Really really sad and Im ashamed to think they come from Stowmarket.
