I have always loved The Oak. Great staff, nice food and a nice outside area. Will check out the new Wetherspoons but I doubt I will abandon my local pubs.

I feel the same. Have only eaten at The Oak once and it was the best burger Ive ever eaten (Conker Burger folks!). Cant stand Wetherspoons. Either old smelly men or drunken youngsters. Give me a good local anyday!

ReportI have to agree with suffolklady, The willow tree looks great! I have a sneaky peak the other day and prophesied some serious trouble for the other drinking establishments in town. Might we see some foreclosures?

ReportWent there yesterday for lunch and it was packed out! It really large with seating out the front and back. and had a great, vibrant atmosphere. I was served by very friendly and helpful staff and thought the food was really good value for money. Top marks from me!

Went there for breakfast... soooo disappointed! Luke warm soggy hash browns, rubbery solid fried eggs, cold toast, had to ask for butter, even the bacon wasn't great. Would much rather spend the same amount of money and support one of the smaller independant local traders. And price of drinks not that great. My local (The Little Wellington ) is only 5p pint more and I know of other pubs locally who are equally cheap. Wont be going back there again
