FARMERS AND landowners in Suffolk have been warned to be vigilant after Suffolk Police received information that a large illegal rave could be being planned for this weekend.

It is likely that the rave will take place tonight or tomorrow night and landowners and farmers have been advised to 'consider appropriate measures to avoid illegal trespass'.

Residents living in rural areas should contact the police if they see groups of young people or a convoy of vehicles travelling in the late evening.

If any rave organisers have approached you in the last few weeks the police also want to hear from you. They can be contacted on 01473 613500 and you must quote the reference: event 202 of the 4th February. Information can also be passed to the police via this link.

As reported by the East Anglian Daily Times in August 2010 Suffolk Police had to break up two raves in Suffolk taking place on the same day. The early warning they have issued today suggests that they are keen to stamp out this illegal activity.

What do you think about raves? Do you think Suffolk Police should be concentrating on combating more serious types of crime being committed in our County?

So, did it happen in the end?

I understand there are concerns of drugs and whatever, but I think the power police and our goverment have over us is a joke. You cant sneeze without having someone dictate to you how to do it.
