Stowmarkets Hottest September in Over a Decade - What is in Store for Autumn?
By jaffacake75 | Friday, September 30, 2011, 00:44
Stowmarket got out its sunglasses yesterday as Thursdays weather turned autumn on its head! With temperatures reaching 29 degrees in some places, the good luck is set to continue today and over the weekend, although cloudier on Sunday. This is great for local businesses as people will be out and about enjoying the fine weather.
Well this year has been quite a confusing time for plants and animals in England. We started off with a dry spring including a drought, then a rather damp and miserable summer. We are now graced with the Indian Summer we wanted. The typical temperature for September should be around 17 degrees, not 29!
What does the mean for the natural world? Apparantly if this continues, it will affect bird migration, hibernation, and the natural cycle of plants and tree's. With snow predicted this October, what consequences lay ahead?

That is the perfect autumn and winter :) Without affecting the seasonal cycle.

ReportThe ideal autumn and winter would be the normal temperatures, but clear blue skies by day and all the rain/snow done by night!

ReportIt is lovely and I am dreading the cold but the seasons seem to be unstable and it is a little worrying isn't it. I am worried about the effects this will have on wildlife and farming.
