Stowmarket A-level student Hollie Hubbard has landed an elusive spot at Cambridge's prestigious Bodywork dance company after a display of technical prowess. 18 year old Hollie lives with her Mother in Stowmarket, while she attends Stowmarket high school and finishes off her A-levels before starting a foundation dance course in September.

Hollie has attended classes from the Cara-Lea School of Dance based in Haughley over the past 10 years and is now ready to take her career further, her course will give Hollie a chance to practice daily within a class, introduce her to the history or dance performance and ultimately give her the chance to perform in shows.

Hollie told an Evening Star reporter: "I went to Cambridge back in December and had to do a two-hour ballet class, two-hour jazz class and a solo piece and monologue.

"I managed to get a place and I start in September. I'm a little bit nervous.

"It will be very different from what I do at Cara-Lea and I'll get a better knowledge and meet new people."

"I started to go to Cara-Lea because everyone said she was great and she was – she really encouraged me to go for the audition. My friends and family are really pleased for me."

Hollie also leads dance sessions for younger students at Stowmarket high school, helping to choreograph performances for the Cara-Lea dancers, a recent act was performed at the famous Royal Albert hall.
