Could it be a white winter 2012?
The BBC weather forecast predicts temperatures in Stowmarket will fall to -3 this week and a 'severe weather' warning has been issued by the Met Office.
According to the Met office there is an 80% chance of snowfall in some parts of the U.K. by the end of the week. Stowmarket has not been announced specifically as a town where snow will fall, however the BBC weather forecast for Ipswich predicts light snow on Friday.
Met office advice states "Prolonged periods of cold weather can be dangerous, especially for the very young, very old or those with chronic diseases." So be sure to look after yourselves if it gets extra cold this winter.
Local resident Isabelle Lundy from Stowmarket said "It's been a strange winter so far, cold but 'not cold' and no sign of snow?! Yet...I hear the winds are blowing in from Siberia, so we might get some snow after all."
The snowfall last year caused widespread chaos across the nation; public transport suffered cancellations, road accidents caused major delays and many people struggled to keep their homes warm. You can view a past wintery gallery from here.
