Save Stowmarket Carnival

Residents of Stowmarket have been coming together to save the annual traditional Carnival procession that takes place in Stowmarket Town Centre. The Carnival will still be happening and will be taking place July 14th 2012.

A facebook group has been setup called "Save Stowmarket Carnival". Residents are asked to join the group if they are interested in supporting this years carnival. Residents of Stowmarket have been collecting money in buckets outside supermarkets. Money is being collected in a variety of ways and local people are very much in the mood for helping. The Save Stowmarket Carnival group has been trying to raise £500 to pay for road signs, this may be achieved but the group are still calling for volunteers, and anyone who may have a suitable vehicle or a lorry that could be borrowed.

The theme of this year's Carnival precession theme is 'the coming of the Olympics". The show kicks off at 12:30pm
