Although the snow has not yet fallen in Stowmarket this year, the ice and the cold is a huge risk to drivers and it therefore extremely important to be prepared. While this is not rocket science, it may not be on the top of your to do list. Well I urge you to reorganise that list.

Icy starts mean de-icing and

warming up the car in the morning. Give yourself plenty of time and don't rush or even think about driving off without being able to see through the windscreen properly! Make sure you have reserves too. Remember to put a blanket

and emergency goodies in your vehicle, like torches and water. If you break down you will wish you had made the sensible preparations.

It is really important to have your car serviced to prevent

breakdowns, especially at this time of year. Not only is it dangerous

for you (especially if you are unprepared) but dangerous for other

drivers when it is dark and snow/fog obstucts drivers views.

There are a number of garages in Stowmarket and surrounding areas; these are
