Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre's 'Cragg' climbing wall has caused quite a stir in the climbing community since it was rebuilt last summer. The wall now consists of 330 square meters of climbing area and includes new bouldering and traverse sections.

The new Cragg was built in June 2011 and offers traversing, top-roping, bouldering and lead climbing. Climbers will be challenged by new routes that are updated regularly by the in house climbing experts.

The Cragg is open seven days a week, although opening times vary depending on the day:

•    Monday - Friday 9am-10:30pm

•    Saturday 9am- 6pm

•    Sunday 9am-9pm

Since 2009 climbers have been enjoying the exceptional dedicated bouldering room which has walls all the way round the room and a soft matt floor in case of a fall. The bouldering room is suitable for climbers of all abilities. Cragg climbing wall manager Nick Hart said.

"It's a great climbing facility and has brought in many enthusiastic climbers from around the U.K."

The main climbing room has over 30 rope lines nearly 9 meters high with some very challenging overhangs. A variety of courses are available including development courses, abseil courses, outdoor courses and many more. Cragg worker and wall setter Tom Harvey said

"I love setting new trails and trying to conquer them, the upgrade has improved the facility ten fold in my opinion."

If you are interested in having a go at climbing it is £6 for adults and £3.45 for students and concessions, you can stay for as long as you like. If you like it you can sign up to monthly and annula memberships.
