Combs Village Fete 2011 - Are You Going?

Combs Village Fete takes place this weekend on Saturday 10th September 2011. Based in Combs, Stowmarket, this is a beautiful example of rural tradition.

Last years event was a huge success, seeing a large turn out at the annual event. For a dose of nostagia, view last years picture gallery for a taste of what is to come this year. From welly throwing and tug of war, to fire poi and to live bands, the Combs community know how to put on a good show! The day ran in to late evening, and ended with lots of dancing and happy smiles. To be honest the event is more like a mini festival!

This years fete will be no different I am sure, with a repeat appearance from local band 'Butterfly' (previously known as Hobomolobo), a very popular touch with the locals and further afield. Get your psychedelic dancing shoes on because these guys are going to blow your socks off!

The big question is, are you going this year? If you are, take your camera and make sure to share them with everyone here on stowmarketpeople! To find the fete, simply follow the main road through the village (if you are coming from Stowmarket direction), and you will eventually pass it on your right - you can't miss it!

I did but only for a short while in the afternoon. People were so friendly!! We planned to go back in the evening for the music but didnt make it in time. Will definitely attend next year!!

As for location the only way i can explain it is to follow the main (and only) road through combs, and you will pass it! They may have signs but u really wont need it :)
