Bosch Expansion Stowmarket

Owners of the Stowmarket based lawn and garden construction factory, Bosch, will be moving into the building opposite the VolksWagen garage on Gipping Way formerly inhabited by furniture retailers, Hopgoods. Planning permission was approved by Mid Suffolk District Council in the summer last year.

Bosch intends to renovate the building ready for the summer, with work starting at the end of February. The expansion could create extra job opportunities.

Hopgoods have sold furniture and home decor products in their store on Gipping way since 1992, until last February when the economic downturn forced them to cease trading. The building has remained empty since then.

Margaret Jameson, who lives close by to the building commented, "It was such a shame when Hopgoods went under, they've been there so long I used to buy all my furniture from them. I was curious who would take it over as it's quite a large building."
