Advice for Stowmarket Landowners from Suffolk Police
By Forever_Free | Friday, September 30, 2011, 11:15
Advice for Stowmarket landowners. A warning has been released by Suffolk Police urging landowners to ensure their property is safe
and secure following an incident reported in another county on
Wednesday 28th September.
Trespassers illegally entered farm land and fenced-in the area, creating a number of postholes. The landowner has since tightened
the security of their field and filled in these postholes.
Quite a cheek and quite confusing as to why people would do this, but alas it does happen so read on.
Suffolk Police give this advice:
1) Ensure that gates which give access to fields cannot be lifted off
their hinges and are properly secured with closed shackle padlocks (to
reduce the risk of bolt cropping)
2) Ensure fences are in a good state of repair
3) Ensure that all vulnerable outbuildings are secure
4) Report suspicious activity e.g people hanging around close to the land
